As the activities of the holiday season start to find their place in our collection of favorite memories, and the prospects of our future start to come into focus with the expectations of the New Year, this becomes a natural time for thinking of fresh starts. Even though this season is in the middle of the CSI program year, we really do begin with a new burst of energy as we begin the second half of our programs. Construction Showcase 2003 is just a few days away and is the perfect remedy for those of you suffering from the ills of procrastination during the course of 2002. Thanks to the hard work of our program directors, Lisa Turner and Paula Nyquist, and their assistants, Construction Showcase 2003 will be a perfect opportunity for us to increase our continuing education credits by visiting the exhibit booths for demonstrations of new products and by attending up to three seminars included with this program. If transportation is a problem, arrangements can be made with CSI for free transportation to this event. This is a busy time in CSI. For those of you that are planning to start or increase your CSI certifications, deadlines to sign-up are fast approaching for the exams that will be given in April. The Chapter will offer preparation Workshops for some of the exams. The CSI Show in Chicago is approaching quickly scheduled for the first half of April this year. The Twin Ports Chapter of Duluth will host the Region Conference in late summer of 2003. This action packed list of events is in addition to the exciting monthly Chapter meetings, presentations, and events scheduled for the upcoming months. As we flip our calendars and practice writing “2003”, please remember to check out all of the CSI information available on our Chapter website. The variety of events listed will have benefits for everyone in the construction industry. With just a little planning now, this can certainly be a year where we all can meet and exceed our continuing education needs. Meeting organizational requirements will be a necessary benefit for all, but the lasting benefit for each of us will be our increase in knowledge and competence. This is the success that CSI strives for as we continue to practice our motto to be “The Construction Educators”. With our Chapter motto secure, may we all enjoy a New Year that is filled with Peace, Prosperity, and Education.
