Here we are at the end of another exciting year of CSI programs. For those of us who have been members for more than a year, we have experienced the full cycle of Chapter events and programs. Our current program year will end with the beginning of a new program year, but instead of completing a circle of events, it is a more accurately stated that we have completed another revolution on a spiral. We are all another year older and, thanks to the caliber of our programs and the experiences we have shared this year, another year wiser. With all the great programs that occurred this year, there was a need to reward individuals for their efforts in making the year a success. Actually, there should be an award for the Awards Night and dinner. The Awards Committee did another fine job creating a stellar evening to reward the efforts of our most dedicated members. Every Chapter member is rewarded with this special evening. Congratulations to all of our award winners. Special thanks to the Awards Committee and its co-chairs, Jerry Putnam and Randy Bartz, and the Master of Ceremonies, Joseph Edwards, for a very wonderful evening. (Note to Self: Reduce publication efforts on this event. Hollywood can not find out about these guys!) Another post-award, end of the year event is the Annual Golf Tournament. Thanks to the planning and weather coordination skills of the Golf Committee lead by Eric Johnson, Event Chair, we were treated to a fun event capped off by an evening of merriment and prizes. Special thanks to all of the sponsors for the golf event and prize donations which help to make everyone a winner. (Note to Self: Reduce publication efforts on this event. The PGA can not find out about this guy and his select committee!) As the month comes to an end, the Board will be losing some “Old Salts” from its number. Sheldon Wolfe, Immediate Past President; Matt Strand, Vice President; and Andrew Miller, Treasurer; will be leaving the Board this year. Dean McCarty, Vice President, will remain on the Board as President-Elect. The Chapter owes you its gratitude for your years of service. Thank you for your efforts in making our Chapter a success. The 1st of July will mark the beginning of a new CSI year. Harold Kiewel, President-Elect, will become our Chapter President to lead us through the next revolution of the spiral of Chapter events. As Harold and his new Board members assume their new roles, there is no doubt that the Chapter is in good hands with the best people in place to meet the challenges of the upcoming year. In the next issue of this column, Harold will introduce the new Board members. It is a humbling experience to work with so many talented people and to witness the dedication that our members have in truly improving the construction industry through education. With the hard work of our Chapter members working on committees and the Board, the work of the Chapter gets done very efficiently and effectively. Not bad for a group of volunteers. Thank you again for making this year another successful one for the Chapter. Hope to see all of you at the North Central Region Conference in Duluth at the end of July!
