First,
I want to reassure you that the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter
of CSI (Construction Specification Institute is strong both
in financial terms and in member ship numbers. While the past
year has been difficult for many in our industry, I am excited
to look forward to next year and know that the opportunities
that CSI offers its members are invaluable as we continue
to face economic challenges. As you probably know, it is more
important than ever to have opportunities to network with
colleagues and friends and to maintain and improve your qualifications
and information resources through continuing educational programs.
With professional development seminars, educational and informative
monthly programs, certification study groups and testing that
is all geared specifically towards its membership and the
design/construction community; there really is no better organization
to belong to.
We hope that you will consider getting involved this year.
Our chapter has many volunteer opportunities on our various
committees. All of our committees are in need of people with
specific skill sets and are looking for help. The Communications
Committee needs someone who is good at advertising sales and
a website administrator. The Professional Development and
Programs Committees need attendee check ins and monthly program
captains. The Awards Committee is looking for people who can
identify and encourage our dedicated volunteers. The Student
Membership Committee needs people to mentor and encourage
our student membership. Whatever you are interested in, we
can find a volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteering on
a committee is a great way to meet new people and network
within the industry.
While the year ahead may be challenging for our members and
our organization, I am looking forward to meeting this challenge
and want to encourage you to get involved. Your commitment
is greatly appreciated in maintaining the strength and resilience
of this important organization.
Best regards,
Paula Nyquist
